WE SEE THE ACTUAL PRIORITY OF THE GAMEMAKERS : PANDERING TO THE SICK MENTALITY TYPICAL IN SO MANY GAMES
Example : Gratuitous spurting-blood Execution move needed to get a segment of the gamer population to buy the game. The Skyhook makes as much (as in 'little') sense as the magic quantum physics the whole Infinite game story is wrapped around.
Maybe if they had spent a little more time on plausible historic issues/presentation and deeper characters and plot (or better flexible combat mechanics) ? That, instead of these infrequently used bloody splattorial special violence effects and half-witted grotesque victim caricatures ... ( *OR* conversely offered 10 X more freakishly gristly (but more fun) attacks and gibs and skipped most of their Faux-Science/Faux-Economy/Faux-History/Faux-Religion/Faux-Technology/Faux-Society/confusing-story THEN they would actually have sold even more and managed to make a profit. )
But REMEMBER, This Game Was About 'Story' - Cuz They Told Us So ...

One of the Policemen you slaughter in Infinite BS shouts this. Is he really talking about the game writers grasp of reality ? ( Or a barely hidden (Execution) Cry for Help from one of the Infinite BS writers who realizes how f*cked up the whole game story is ??? )
SO Booker just picks up this thing and starts decapitating people with it, or crushing their heads or tearing their chests open with this contrived buzz-saw-like device. (( Is this some sick unconscious projection of the Game Writer's psyches ?? ))
Where did he learn to do that ? Is it what the US Calvary used against the Indians[1], or similar to the Pinkerton's standard Union Breaking 'Handling' Device ?
Oh Yes, Don't fool yourself, your character is ALREADY a homicidal maniac -- before you even start mass-slaughtering things in the game - Didn't you Realize That ?
Oh. He is first given a little demonstration as the Policeman threatens him with it -- And it falls right off the Cops hand so conveniently, and Booker quickly picks it up, puts it on as if he's used one for half his life. He seemingly knows how to activate it, and then proceeds to grab that Cop and then skillfully plunging it into the Cops face ( and NOT slice his own arm off ). Booker is spattered/slathered by blood whipped about by that handy circa 1900 rotary device - and then that nice metallic tang is left hanging in the air.
Any hint here that Levine & Co have a low opinion of both Cops and of the Players' intelligence, and some need to outdo the other violent games??? Hmmmm, "Execute" option ????
Yes, THIS game IS about 'Redemption" ... BS.[2]
The whole game was 'disconnected' from "BioShock", and no amount of 'talking'[3] could change that.
THIS is Really ALL the Gamemakers Really Cared About :
Nothing quite facilitates examining Social Relevance issues like Tearing and Spattering Brains with a three-pronged rotating hook !!!!

AT WHAT Point in Infinite BS's development did THEY think "Hey, We can change that Skyhook thing into something that can shred faces -- THAT WILL BE GREAT !!!!"
Personally, I SEE Pandering to This Kind of Sick Perversity ^^^ as being a "Bottom Shelf" Type of GameMaking

Kinda Gratuitous. Explains why the bizarre Skyhook and the asinine Skyline Excuse was really there in the game ( see what the original one looked like ). But remember the game was REALLY about 'Story' ... Yeeeeeahhhhh Riiiiiiiighttt.
When I call it "Infinite BS", the 'BS' doesn't stand for 'BioShock' ...
I guess it helped Players wade through the endless repetitive firefights, just to be able to see a different bloody way to dispose of one of the enemies. Second-person Slow Mo with Booker being on the receiving end ( His deaths, blown apart, limbs torn off, spray and gushes of blood and guts and brains ) might've been just as/more interesting, and sold a few more copies $$$.
Player 'Mod' REDOs of Infinite BS might add even more ridiculous and very entertaining 'execution' sequences ( and various accidents[4] ).

Infinite BS : Bullet Sponge Opponents in Sucky Repetitive Battles for the Mindless Violence :
Seems more than a few reviewers saw that as the biggest flaw in the game. After all, BioShock Solo games were mostly a Shoot-Em-Up game, and the story matters little to that activity, so having inferior Combat brands Infinite BS as MEDIOCRE.
For most people, I wonder what the total fighting/combat minutes were out of the total play-through time ? As short/shrunken as the play-through hours are these days, endless forced combat I guess is a way for the game company to spend less on actual explored content and interactions.

Actually, couldn't you say that Infinite BS was by far worse ?? We see/know what Levine & Co have been gifted with in this country, but look what THEY have miserably done with the Fruits of the REAL American Exceptionalism ??? ( A computer game Created with 'least common denominator' reason/logic, alot of Hacked-together pablum, False promises, and then Bragging about how Great and Clever the makers were, etc ... ) ??
Ryan would Scoff in derision at such Non-Achievement/Non-Worthiness.
Fontaine would say "There are Sheep out there to be Shorn -- AND THEN BE SOLD TO THE ABATTOIR ...".

At Least Make It Two-Way ? :
DO any Vigor-Effected Splicers or Police ( after the first lottery mayhem ) ever come at Booker with a 'Skyhook' ?? Vox ?
Why not ? Reason : Because it would take far better gamemaker skill to have it wielded realistically by an NPC ( Animation AND AI scripting limitations ). AND similarly, game actions done by the Player to counter a weapon of that type -- versus those one sided (and short) INSTA-DEATH canned execution moves.
More Potential for the MMORPG REDO to do this.

- ↑ The 7th Calvary was ordered to leave behind their Sabers for that campaign.
- ↑ "BS" == Abbreviation for BULLSHIT - Something that should be said a whole lot about the writing in this Infinite BS game.
- ↑ The endless talking in interviews the gamemakers did - just alot of talk, but witness : the half-arsed game 'talks' all for itself.
- ↑ Like that scene of Booker MISSING on his attack, and the Skyhook swings down and starts bloodily sawing through HIS leg in a graphic and grisly manner. His screaming was priceless. ***THIS*** Perhaps to be seen in a REDO game.

WHY DO I BOTHER ?
Because I WANT computer games to be better than what we typically get from the Game Industry, and perhaps by pointing out ClapTrap like BioShock Infinite, strong criticisms being voiced might serve to SHAME the makers of such substandard games, and MIGHT cause them to DO BETTER in Future.
